Child Safety & Professional Responsibility

A safe space begins with clear boundaries.

Children's wellbeing, dignity and safety come first in every part of Nurture & Bloom's work.

Safeguarding shapes how coaching is conducted, how information is handled, how parents are involved and what happens if a concern arises that needs support beyond coaching.

The child's welfare comes first

Every child deserves to be treated with respect, care and dignity. Nurture & Bloom is committed to providing coaching spaces that are emotionally and physically safe, developmentally appropriate and respectful of each child's individuality, family context and needs.

Every child is treated with dignity

Children are welcomed and supported regardless of background, culture, ability or individual differences. Coaching is delivered with respect for the child, their family and the values that are important to them.

Parents are partners, and the child's voice matters

Parents and guardians are important partners in children's coaching. Clear communication is established around the child's needs, the purpose of coaching and how parents can support the process.

A child's willingness to participate also matters. Coaching is collaborative, and a child is not forced to engage in a coaching process they are unwilling to take part in.

Understanding the whole child

Before beginning individual coaching, relevant information is gathered to understand the child's broader wellbeing, strengths and areas of concern.

Where assessment or consultation raises a red flag suggesting that coaching may not be sufficient or appropriate on its own, this is discussed with the parent and referral to an appropriately qualified professional may be recommended.

Privacy matters, but safety comes first

Children need an appropriate degree of privacy in order to build trust and speak openly. Personal information and coaching conversations are treated with care and confidentiality.

Confidentiality is not absolute. If information raises a genuine concern about abuse, neglect, exploitation, serious risk of harm or another significant safeguarding issue, relevant information may need to be shared with a parent, guardian, appropriate professional or child-protection authority in order to protect the child.

Safety takes priority when there is a serious risk of harm.

Clear professional boundaries

Nurture & Bloom maintains clear professional boundaries in all work with children and families.

Communication, coaching activities and parent involvement remain age-appropriate, respectful and consistent with the role of a Kids Life Coach.

Coaching does not include psychological diagnosis, psychotherapy, psychiatric treatment, medical treatment or any service requiring a professional licence that Nurture & Bloom does not hold.

Knowing when to refer

Kids Life Coaching has a clear scope. If a child's needs indicate that psychological assessment, therapy, medical support or another specialist service may be more appropriate, the family will be encouraged to seek support from a suitably qualified professional.

Coaching may sometimes complement other professional support where appropriate, but it does not replace clinical care.

Safeguarding applies online too

Online coaching is approached with the same attention to safety, boundaries and professionalism as in-person work. Sessions are conducted through appropriate platforms, with parent involvement considered according to the child's age, needs and circumstances.

If online coaching is not considered suitable for a particular child or situation, this will be discussed with the parent.

Children's information is handled with care

Client information, assessment records and coaching notes are handled confidentially and with care.

Children's photographs, assessment material, testimonials or examples of coaching work are not shared publicly without appropriate permission and careful consideration of privacy.

Where anonymised coaching journeys or examples are shared publicly, identifying details are removed or generalised to protect the child and family.

Responding to safeguarding concerns

Nurture & Bloom is based in the United Arab Emirates and takes child-protection responsibilities seriously.

Where information suggests abuse, neglect, exploitation or another significant threat to a child's physical, psychological, moral or mental wellbeing, appropriate safeguarding action will be taken in accordance with applicable UAE child-protection requirements.
